This book aims to analyze the postcolonial literary texts in terms of the representation of migrant experience through the perspectives of the writers who are from the formerly colonized territories. Because the imposition of the colonizer which began in the colonial period is still in effect and once colonized people are oppressed and culturally dominated in “the mother country” it is reasonable to adopt the postcolonial theory which provides an influential theoretical framework to deal with the novels. The study encompasses the analysis of three postcolonial novels from three different former colonies- the Caribbean, Sudan, India. Notwithstanding the geographical differences, the literary works are significant in that they examine postcoloniality and its effects on migrants knowns as “Commonwealth”.
